AI Jargonaut Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 29, 2026

1. What we collect

Nothing. There is no account to create, no analytics, no tracking, no advertising identifiers, and no server of ours that the app talks to. We cannot read the terms you write, the terms you look up, or the images you attach, because none of it is ever sent to us.

2. Your content, and where it lives

Your dictionary — the starter terms, the terms you add or edit, any image you attach, and the record of what you have looked up — is stored by the app on your device.

You are the sole owner of everything you write. You can delete any entry at any time by swiping it to the left in the Browse tab and tapping Delete.

3. iCloud sync

If you are signed in to iCloud, your dictionary is kept in the private database of your own iCloud account and syncs to your other devices signed in to the same Apple Account. Images you attach sync with their entry.

That private database belongs to you. We have no access to it and no means of obtaining access to it. Deleting an entry on one device deletes it on the others.

If you are not signed in to iCloud, or you turn iCloud off for this app in your device settings, your dictionary simply stays on the device you are using, and the app tells you so. Apple's handling of anything stored in iCloud is governed by Apple's own privacy policy.

4. Apple Intelligence

When you ask the app to look up a term with Apple Intelligence, the term you typed is passed to the language model built into your device, and the suggested definition comes back from that model. On devices that support the feature, this happens on the device itself: your request is not sent to us, and it is not sent anywhere for processing.

Nothing the model suggests is saved until you accept it. The feature is simply unavailable on devices that do not support Apple Intelligence or where it is switched off, and you can always type the details in yourself.

5. Spotlight search

So that you can find a term without opening the app, the app adds your dictionary — acronyms, expansions, and definitions — to the search index that the system keeps on your device. This is what lets your entries appear in Spotlight.

Those indexed entries stay on your device and are not sent to us. Deleting an entry removes it from that index too, and removing the app removes everything it indexed.

6. Siri and Shortcuts

You can ask Siri to define a term, and you can build Shortcuts that read from your dictionary. When you do, the app answers from the dictionary already on your device.

The spoken request itself is handled by Siri, not by us, and is subject to Apple's privacy policy and to your own Siri settings.

7. The widget

If you add the Term of the Day widget, the app writes the handful of terms the widget needs into a storage area shared only between this app and its widget on the same device. Other apps cannot read it, and nothing is sent off the device.

8. Sharing, export, and import

Nothing leaves the app unless you send it. When you tap Share on a definition, or export your terms to a JSON file, you choose the destination — and from that point the text is governed by whichever app or service you sent it to. Exported files contain the text of your entries; images you attached are not written into them.

Importing a file reads its terms into your dictionary and does nothing else.

9. Children

The app collects no data from anyone, of any age.

10. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the current version will be posted at https://godbyjesus.com/ai_jargonaut and in the app.
