TERMS OF SERVICE FOR AI Jargonaut APP

Effective Date: August 29, 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using the"AI Jargonaut" application (the “App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use the App.

2. Description of Service

The App is a jargon navigator of artificial-intelligence acronyms and terms. It ships with a curated starter set of entries, and it lets you look terms up, write your own entries, edit any entry, attach an illustration, and import or export entries as a JSON file. On supported devices, it can suggest an expansion, definition, source, and date for a term using the language model built into your device.

We do not collect, store, or process any personal data. Your entries are stored on your device and, if you are signed in to iCloud, in the private database of your own iCloud account. Sharing happens only when you explicitly initiate it using your device's own sharing features. See the Privacy Policy for detail on iCloud sync, Spotlight indexing, Siri, and on-device generation.

3. Accuracy of Definitions — Please Read

The App is a reference aid, not an authority.

Definitions suggested by Apple Intelligence are produced by a language model and may be incomplete, misleading, or simply wrong, including the source and the date it attributes to a term. The App shows you every suggestion for review before it is saved precisely because it cannot be assumed correct. You are responsible for checking anything you choose to keep.

The starter entries are provided for general information. They were compiled with care, but terminology in this field is contested and moves quickly, dates of origin are often disputed, and citations may be imprecise or incomplete.

Nothing in the App is professional, academic, legal, financial, or technical advice, and it should not be relied upon for any decision that matters. Verify against the primary sources.

4. User Content

You are solely responsible for any content you create or share through the App. You agree not to create or share content that is:

- Unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, vulgar, obscene, or libelous;- Invasive of another's privacy;- Hateful or discriminatory based on race, ethnicity, gender, religion, or any other protected characteristic; or- Otherwise objectionable or in violation of any applicable laws.

We do not monitor or pre-screen user content and have no obligation to do so.

5. Sharing Content

The App enables you to share content through other applications installed on your device, and to write your entries out to a file.

When you share content, you are subject to the terms of service and privacy policies of those third-party applications and services.

We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content policies of any third-party service.

6. System Integration

To make your entries findable, the App adds them to the search index the system keeps on your device, and exposes them to Siri and the Shortcuts app so that you can ask for a definition without opening the App. These features are provided by the operating system, and your use of them is subject to Apple's terms and privacy policy as well as these Terms.

7. Intellectual Property

You retain full ownership of any content you create using the App.

All rights in and to the App itself — including but not limited to the source code, databases, features, software, text, and graphics — are owned by or licensed to us and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. The starter entries quote and cite third-party sources; those sources remain the property of their respective owners.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE APP IS PROVIDED \"AS IS\" AND \"AS AVAILABLE,\" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

WE MAKE NO WARRANTY THAT THE CONTENT IN THE APP, WHETHER SHIPPED WITH IT OR GENERATED ON YOUR DEVICE, IS ACCURATE, CURRENT, OR COMPLETE.

We make no guarantee that the App will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, or that any defect will be corrected.

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, RESULTING FROM:

- (a) Your access to or use of — or inability to access or use — the App;- (b) Any conduct or content of any third party;- (c) Any content obtained through the App, including content generated on your device; or- (d) Unauthorized access to or alteration of your content.

10. Modifications to Terms

We reserve the right to update or modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be posted at: https://aijargonaut.com 

Your continued use of the App following the effective date of any change constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.

11. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States of America, without regard to conflict of law principles.
